Fly to Australia

For me this really was an anticipated trip in my life. It was in June last year mum and dad decided to plan a trip to Australia to visit both my aunts who reside in Melbourne and my sister who is in Adelaide. They jokingly said that they want to travel when they can still walk.

On December 13, the day finally arrived. Two weeks before flying I settled off some outstanding works and slowly free my good self to a holiday mode. My aunts and cousins were quick to arrange everything for us, from food to accommodation and a travel package to Sydney and Canberra.

Putrajaya Balloon Fiesta

Finally made it to the 3rd Putrajaya Balloon Fiesta on Saturday. It was actually a preamble to our conquest of Broga Hill on Sunday morning. It was a weekend well packed and well enjoyed especially with great company.

I missed the 1st and 2nd Putrajaya Balloon Fiesta. This time around, I promised myself I should not miss it again so I tweeted another three friends to join in the fiesta. We decided to slip in during the evening considering it would be cooler and if we are lucky -su nset view in Putrajaya.

The sky was rather cloudy in uptown but when we reached Putrajaya rain started pouring down. The balloons could not be flown. So we waited with the rest of the much anticipated crowd praying and hoping the weather to be fine again. It was about 6.30pm the sky stopped raining and has turned to clear orange sky.

Slowly, we could see the crew inflating the ballons one at a time and installing the burner to fly the balloons. Only media and working crew were allowed to enter the arena, the rest of us could only observed from afar. Come to think about it, balloons are only beautiful when seen from some distance away!

Despite the initial excitement to see they fly the hot air ballon, it was rather a disappointment because the Darth Vader and Doraemon balloons were only flown off at night. How is one going to notice the Darth Vader at night?

We also did not make it to ride the balloon. Was only told the ticket has been sold out, that itself was a total turn off. Food sold there was bad too. Directions and signages was poor, therefore causing unnecessary heavy traffic jam. The organise need to set up signages and notices to better keep visitors informed. Am looking to a better organised Balloon fiesta.
